Yesterday I assisted the lovely Laura Ivanova from Laura Ivanova Photography (blog here). The day couldn’t have gone better. It was a beautifully relaxed wedding and the couple looked absolutely stunning:
As a celebration to an awesome Friday (if you know me, you know why) I decided to treat my hunny and myself with cupcakes from Cake Eater Bakery. If you’ve had cupcakes from here, you know why I say ‘treat’. I will literally crave these cupcakes at random times, and I’m not even huge on cupcakes. How do I even explain it? Their cupcakes have like a crisp outer edge and a soft yummy flavor. The frosting is always perfectly perfect, not overdone. So far Lemon Lavender takes the lead for me. I’m a 9-5 computer-nerd, I know this, but I looove the time when I can wander away from technology. To get away from communication that doesn’t involve face-to-face contact—agh, it’s the best.
My happiness stems from really taking time to honestly appreciate simplicity. A sunset can make me feel grateful. A wiser story can make me feel grounded. An instrument can make me mindful. It may only make sense to me, but that’s perfectly fine.
These thoughts don’t come easier then when you’re fishing out of a boat with good people. Enough said. Here’s some photography from my vacation up North (Bena, Minnesota).

More Northern Minnesota photography + write up to come.

THIS is the most wonderful time of the year — I don’t care what they sing. The weekend weather makes me allllll smiles. I love it. My mom loves it. What she doesn’t love is me taking pictures of her but that is what happens when you get in my “favorite place to paint in this f-n awesome weather” shot. That it all. I think I’ll being heading outside now.
P.S. These are the first images taken with my new Canon 60D. Already passionately in love with it. I’m sorry Nikon, but we just weren’t meant to be.
It’s the little things in my room that make me feel at home.
From left to right: My favorite mug made in Ceramics I, a mosaic candle holder that creates a beautiful disco-ball effect when the sun hits it just right, a glass blown container holding the candles I light at night, a lovely wire ‘J’ from Anthropologie, a dream catcher that dangles above my head while I sleep.
And believe it or don’t believe it, but I wrote this post before noticing that Anthropologie currently
has this on their website:
