A mini-trip to say ‘hi’ to a new transition.
As a way to celebrate Taylor’s graduation [December 10] I booked a hotel room and planned a mini-trip. We stayed at The Millenium and roamed Minneapolis, checked out the Holidazzle Parade, had a bite with some drinks, enjoyed each other’s company, and saw the city some more. Even with the many moments that reminded me why I think cities are fun to see but not to live in, any moment with Taylor is a good one and we had a great time. A peek at our day:

My dad helped put in this boardwalk many years ago. Ask him the story about ‘Two Smokes’:

Taylor on graduation day:

I didn’t realize I was driving with the radio off until halfway home from Mankato. This is so unlike me (I love me some good driving tunes), but I found myself recapping Mankato times instead.
I thought about move-in weekends, barbeques, late night swims, hammerschlagen, Christmas parties, New Years parties, Halloween parties, NUMEROUS card games, the many meals from Chipotle, and the many lazy Sundays. It made me realize just how much fun I’ve truly had with Taylors’ roommates — and all the memories that I’ll be keeping ‘til the end.
I obviously loved my own college experience, but to observe and get to know Taylor’s college life was at times equally awesome. His roommates really have always been the bomb, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced a moment when I felt unwelcomed. If I hadn’t gotten to know Taylor’s friends over the past three years, I would have missed out on hours upon hours of stomach clenching laughter, and that would have been a COMPLETE AND UTTER SHAME.
I snapped a few of the boys before this years’ annual ugly-sweater Christmas party. Even though next weekend marks their last day in the house together, I hope the tradition continues.

How Scotty’s drink did not spill here — I have no clue.
